Privacy Policy

Seek First is designed to keep personal faith practices private while being clear about the optional services that leave your device.

Information processed on your device

Prayers, journal entries, imported audio, transcripts, summaries, downloaded Bible resources, app-blocking selections, and Selah Memory are stored and processed locally by default. Supported devices can use local Gemma models, Parakeet transcription, Kokoro voice, and Apple language frameworks without sending that content to Seek First servers.

Journal audio is stored in the app's protected Application Support directory and excluded from device backups. Deleting a prayer or journal entry in Seek First also removes its associated local audio.

Optional Apple CloudKit community features

No separate Seek First account is required. If you choose Community features, Apple CloudKit may store shared Bible highlights, optional highlight notes, reading-plan participation, comments, your chosen display name, and an Apple CloudKit record identifier. These records are associated with your iCloud participation and may be visible to other Community users according to the feature you use.

Local entries can be deleted in the app. To request deletion of Community records, email calebjfeliciano@gmail.comwith the subject “Seek First data deletion.” We may ask for enough information to locate the relevant CloudKit records.

Purchases and paywalls

Apple processes App Store purchases. RevenueCat helps verify Pro entitlement and may process anonymous purchase history and technical identifiers needed to manage access. Superwall presents and measures paywall experiences. Seek First does not receive your full payment card details.

Advertising and consent

The Free plan may show contextual Google AdMob ads outside prayer, Bible reading, AI, voice, note editing, onboarding, paywalls, and Profile. Google's User Messaging Platform handles consent where required. Seek First requests non-personalized ads and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission in this release.

Google's SDK may process coarse location, device identifiers, advertising data, product interaction, crash data, performance data, and diagnostics as described in Google's privacy documentation.

AI and external services

Seek First focuses on local AI. Local Voice remains the default and runs with supported on-device models. Pro users may explicitly choose Enhanced Voice for a foreground conversation. When selected, live microphone audio and the resulting conversation are processed by OpenAI's Realtime service through a Seek First Cloudflare broker. The OpenAI API key is never stored in the app.

The broker verifies the app installation and Pro entitlement, applies session and monthly limits, and stores only security identifiers, session timing, and aggregate usage needed to prevent abuse. Seek First does not store Enhanced Voice audio or conversation transcripts on that broker. Leaving the app ends the Enhanced Voice session and returns voice mode to the local path.

Screen Time permissions

Seek First uses Apple Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks to enforce app-blocking choices. Apple provides the system authorization and app-selection interfaces. Seek First does not receive a readable list of your entire installed app library.

Screen Time insights are rendered through Apple's privacy-preserving Device Activity report extension. The app can show aggregate duration and estimated time reclaimed without uploading Screen Time reports to Seek First servers.

Optional location-based Focus Rhythms

If you create a location-based Focus Rhythm, the place and radius you choose are stored on your device and used with Apple's low-power region monitoring to activate or end blocking. Seek First does not upload those saved places to its servers. You can remove a place or revoke location permission at any time.

Retention and security

Local information remains until you delete it, reset the app, or remove the app, subject to iOS storage behavior. Community records remain in CloudKit until deleted or a deletion request is completed. Enhanced Voice security and aggregate-usage records are retained only as needed to enforce access, prevent abuse, and reconcile session limits. We use Apple platform protections and limit data processing to the services needed for the feature you choose, but no storage system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

Your choices

  • Use core prayer, Bible, journal, and local-AI features without Community.
  • Choose which journal summaries can enter Selah Memory.
  • Use Local Voice by default or explicitly select Enhanced Voice.
  • Delete saved Focus Rhythm locations or revoke location permission.
  • Delete local prayer and journal records inside the app.
  • Change ad privacy choices when Google's privacy options are available.
  • Request assistance with Community record deletion by email.

Contact and policy updates

Privacy questions can be sent to calebjfeliciano@gmail.com or by phone at (254) 466-0997. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. This policy should be reviewed alongside Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and Superwall policies for their respective services.
